Vincenzo Gentili, the founder and chairman of GSR SpA, has always preferred modesty to visibility and acclaim. So it was not unusual that several months passed before we heard about the tribute he received at the annual meeting of Unindustria Rimini, held last 14 June, during which the 70th anniversary of the trade association was celebrated. In the presence of guests that included national Confindustria president Sergio Squinzi, special awards were presented to member companies of the association that were founded over a century ago. The story of GSR is one of entrepreneurship and excellence, with its roots firmly planted in the past, and more precisely in 1890, when Scalificio Riminese was formed, a company that later, in the 1950s, started to produce vehicle-mounted ladders. Vincenzo’s company Gentili Oleodinamica bought Scalificio Riminese in 1976 and created the current company GSR SpA, which by now has long been present on the main international markets, where it is widely recognized as one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of vehicle-mounted aerial platforms. And needless to say, the story goes on.
